Financial Assistance Program

About the Program

The UVM Climbing Team is working hard to break the financial barriers that are in place around climbing. That's why we've recently introduced our new Financial Assistance Program, in order to break down the financial barriers that are often encountered in climbing.

Who's Eligible?​

Any member of Recreational or Competition Team is free to apply. We don't need to see documents of any kind; we trust that you know what you need. Financial Assistance also extends to dues, and we have a no-questions-asked policy about waiving dues-- all you have to do is let us know you won't be able to pay them.

What We Need From You

From Spring 2022 forward there have been some newly established contingencies on financial assistance; we want to be supporting students who will be using their membership, and several students who have received aid in the past ended up using their membership less than twice.

For this reason, there is now a new expectation attached to financial assistance: if you receive any amount of assistance, you are expected to go to the gym at least 6 times during the semester. If you don't meet the bare minimum 6-visit requirement, you may not be eligible for assistance in the future, because we'd like to prioritize people who will actively be using it.

We will confirm that you've gone in at least 6 times by checking your swipe records in the Metro Rock system-- no filling out of attendance needed.
